Sunday 11th June - bike *** Around Felixstowe - sunny and hot:).

The heatwave continues here in Felixstowe with wall to wall sunshine and temperatures reaching at least 25 degrees helped by the light breezes! After a full-on day with the lovely Maeva things were a little calmer today, I actually managed my exercises in the back garden while Mag spent most of the day pottering about in the garden which is looking great at the moment, full of wonderful colour despite having no rain for weeks now, we are using our shower water for the garden which is keeping things going! It was too hot and crowded to venture out along the prom today, we are not a lover of crowds so I decide to head out on a rare trip on the bike, Mag is getting a little closer to risking going out on her bike, we just have to get it back from the repair shop! After taking some pics of Mags flowers, the Rambling Rector Rose is looking particularly good I leave home at three heading inland away from people, in fact I saw very few humans on the whole bike ride, just brilliant:) Over to Marsh Lane and out into the countryside seeing how the crops are coming along, the potatoes, wheat and barley are looking good. Past Kings Fleet and up onto the River Deben path which was fairly smooth due to a covering of grass stopping at the water ski jetty. I sit on the end in the warm sunshine with a nice breeze watching the river action, loads of yachts, dinghies heading to the Ferry and a water skier. I then carried onto the second turning to Falkenham Church, spoting two hares on the way:) Around the church to the bridle way which eventually leads to Kirton, across the A 14 to Trimley. Grimston Lane takes me to the tree lined path with views down to the River Orwell and back to Felixstowe. Past the skate park near Morrisons where I was impressed to see a lad do a back loop on his scooter, a quick detour to the clifftop to see the sea and home for a very welcome cuppa. Nice bike ride, would have been so much better with Mag!
